Dreams made possible by Summer Discovery for first ever Dukathole Scholar
Wayleen Williams of Dukathole Township in Johannesburg, South Africa became the first ever Dukathole Scholar to spend the summer on an American college campus.
Wayleen, 17, was thrilled to be part of the diverse student body from dozens of states and countries at Summer Discovery's UCLA pre-college program. This dynamic honor student was the beneficiary of a full-tuition scholarship provided by Summer Discovery.
"I am grateful to have made many friends from the US and all over the world. Summer Discovery also helped me improve my writing skills, and I loved my hip-hop dance class" said Wayleen to Bob Musiker during his recent trip Johannesburg.
Wayleen will be the first member of her family to attend college and dreams of attending an American University. Summer Discovery was an important step in making that dream a reality.
